Serum: Ingredients & Benefits

Ingredients Benefits
Deionized Water Deionized water is cleaner, safer and great tasting water. It has benefits to health simply because deionized water, or pure water, does not contain harmful toxins and chemicals.
Stearic Acid Esters of stearic acid with ethylene glycol, glycol stearate, and glycol distearate are used to produce a pearly effect in shampoos, soaps, and other cosmetic products. They are added to the product in molten form and allowed to crystallize under controlled conditions.
Glyceryl Stearate Glyceryl Stearate is derived from palm kernel, vegetable or soy oil and is also found naturally in the human body. It acts as a lubricant on the skin’s surface, which gives the skin a soft and smooth appearance. It easily penetrates the skin and slows the loss of water from the skin by forming a barrier on the skin’s surface. It has been shown to protect skin from free-radical damage as well.
Shea Butter is a skin superfood that comes from the seeds of the fruit of the Shea (Karite) tree and that is naturally rich in vitamins A, E and F. It offers UV protection (it is SPF ~6) and provides the skin with essential fatty acids and the nutrients necessary for collagen production. The concentration of natural vitamins and fatty acids in Shea butter makes it incredibly nourishing and moisturizing for skin. It is often used to remedy dry skin and to help protect the skin’s natural oils. Shea butter aids in the skin’s natural collagen production and contains oleic, stearic, palmitic and linolenic acids that protect and nourish the skin to prevent drying. With long term use, many people report skin softening and strengthening as well as wrinkle reduction.
Rosehip Seed Oil Comes from the seeds of the rosehip fruit, a wild plant that grows in Chile. Extremely high in essential fatty acids (over 70% of the rosehip seed is fatty acid) Rich in vitamins and antioxidants, especially Vitamin C, Vitamin A (retinol), and linoleic and linolenic acids—all superstars for skin and hair health.
Sesame Seed Oil is filled with ingredients that are capable of providing a nice and silky texture for your skin. Presence of fatty acids along with linoleic acid makes them an effective moisturizer for skin. They are also rich in vitamin E, D and B complex which makes them effective enough to reduce scars and other rashes on the skin.
Olive Oil Contains three major antioxidants: vitamin E, polyphenols, and phytosterols. Antioxidants, when topically applied, may help protect the skin from premature skin aging. Vitamin E partly accounts for the anti-aging benefits of olive oil because it helps restore skin smoothness and protects against ultraviolet light. Hydroxytyrosol, a rather rare compound found in olive oil, also prevents free radical damage to the skin.
Extracts of White Willow It contains salicylic acid, a BHA that is a natural exfoliant used in several acne treatments because it can help skin shed dead cells while clearing pores.
Burdock Natural cure for skin disorders. Enriched with healing properties, Burdock effectively treats acne, pimples, eczema, dry skin, and blemishes. Using burdock can be useful in combating acne and soothing the skin.
Milk Thistle Helps get rid of pimples, zits, eczema and acne. Milk thistle has detoxifying properties. At the same time it is also known to help produce bile in the intestine to keep digestion and bowel movements normal. Both of them are important for good skin by getting rid of free radicals in the body. This ultimately helps get rid of pimple and related skin problems.
Hops Hop is a good source of antioxidants, which means that it helps the body fight against free radicals, giving the skin a radiant and youthful glow.
Sophora Root Extarct Sophora flavescens Ait. (Leguminosae) has been proposed as a new whitening agent for cosmetics, because it has a strong ability to inhibit tyrosinase, a key enzyme in the formation of melanin.
Squalene Shows that squalane not only hydrates and softens the skin, but may also be an effective anti-aging ingredient. Because squalane spreads easily over the skin and penetrates so deeply, it may help to lessen the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It may also fight aging by protecting the skin from UV rays and free radicals, which destroy skin cells and damage the skin’s natural collagen.
Isooctyl Palmitate helping blend vitamins A, C & D into a suspension. It’s an effective collagen builder and free-radical scavenging ingredient essential to healthy skin. With the advantage of being lipid (fat) soluble, it can penetrate the skin and deliver antioxidants faster than the water soluble forms of Vitamin C.
Isopropyl Myristate ability to moisturize the skin. As an emollient, isopropyl myristate helps strengthen the skin’s natural moisture barrier, which helps it stay hydrated by reducing moisture loss.
Polydimethylsiloxane because of its ability to serve as an anti-foaming agent, skin protectant and conditioner; it is known to prevent water and moisture loss in the skin by forming a hydrating barrier.
Salicylic Acid salicylic acid can help exfoliate your skin and reveal the healthy, new skin underneath. Works by gently removing excess skin. Salicylic acid also prevents pores from clogging by slowing the shedding of cells inside hair follicles, which helps prevent acne. Salicylic acid lotions can even break down whiteheads and blackheads.
Vitamin E Acts as a moisturizer. Vitamin E restores and rejuvenates dehydrated skin.
Tea Tree Oil effective as treatment for bacterial and inflammatory conditions such as acne.
