1) Turmeric and Coconut Oil

Turmeric powder is a very powerful antibacterial agent; the curcumin found in turmeric can assist in fighting cystic acne by breaking down the cysts. Coconut oil contains lauric acid, which when combined with curcumin creates a very strong mixture and can work together to defeat acne inside and out.

    What You Need:

    • 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder
    • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil Bowl

    Directions:

Combine together the turmeric powder and coconut oil and stir well. Once the mixture becomes a smooth texture, you can apply it directly on the affected areas of concern. Leave it on for at least 10 or 15 minutes, and then afterwards rinse with cold water. You can repeat this treatment up to three times per day. Applying tea tree oil products within the times you apply this mixture is especially beneficial.

      2) Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is also known as ACV is an incredibly powerful acne remedy. ACV contains astringent, antiseptic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Apple cider vinegar helps to fight bacteria while cleansing your skin; it will also help balance your skin’s natural pH levels. Healthy, clear skin and a better-balanced pH level will no doubt help your cystic breakouts and even prevent future ones.

Then gently apply the cotton ball onto the affected areas of concern. Let it dry and leave overnight. In the morning, rinse it off. Repeat these steps every night before bed until you see results.

          3) Tea Tree Oil

This essential oil is one of the most effective and common ingredients used to treat all types of acne, including cystic acne. With its amazing anti-fungal and antibacterial properties, it plays a dominant role in reducing the inflammation that leads to the swelling caused by bacteria of the skin. 4) Egg White

Egg whites contain the obvious protein, but they also contain albumin and lysozyme. Albumin contains antiviral properties, as the lysozyme destroys the cell walls of bacteria. If you have oily skin, egg whites are a great treatment option as it offers a drying effect which removes excess oil from the skin.

                    5) Baking Soda

Baking soda contains antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties which in return help to reduce the inflammation and redness. Baking soda will also help clear the pores as well as fight the bacteria causing the infection, leaving you with smooth and radiant skin!

                      What You Need:

                      • Baking Soda

Repeat this process up to 2 times daily.

You have the option to add Epsom salt as well. Epsom salt has anti-inflammatory properties which help to reduce swelling and soothe the flare-ups of cystic acne.

                        6) Honey Mask

Honey contains natural anti-bacterial agents which do wonders for healing several skin conditions, such as cystic acne. Honey can absorb the oils and prevent the growth of microorganisms which are trapped in the pores, making your skin smooth and moisturized. Honey masks are especially effective when used in combination with tea tree oil or coconut oil.

                          What You Need:

                          • Honey

                          Directions:

                            7) Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is a highly effective ingredient to use to fight against bacteria. The citric acid in the lemon works as an astringent, as well as containing anti-bacterial properties. The acidity of the lemon will help to remove dead skin cells and breakdown the cysts.

                              What You Need:

                              • Cotton balls or Q-tip
                              • Fresh Lemons
                              • Container or bowl

                              Directions:

Make sure you clean the affected areas and pat dry. Squeeze the lemon juice and place it into a small container or bowl. Dip the cotton ball or Q-tip into the lemon juice and apply it directly to the cystic acne. Allow the lemon juice to sit on the affected area(s) for at least 10 minutes. Afterwards, gently wash with warm water. Repeat twice a day.

                                8) Ice

Ice cubes are great for soothing and relieving pain, swelling and/or inflammation caused by cystic acne. Ice works to close the pores which will prevent further dirt, oil and dead skin cells from building up inside them. Ice is good to use after any of the previous remedies listed above.

                                  What You Need:
                                  • Ice cubes
                                  • Small hand towel

                                  Directions:

On a clean face, take one ice cube and place it directly onto the affected area(s). Move the ice cube in circular motions to stimulate healing and continue to keep the ice cube on the cystic acne until it melts or until you become too sensitive to the cold. You can repeat this process up to three times a day to assist with pain, swelling and inflammation.

                                    9) Steaming the Affected Area

The best way to help open your pores up is to apply steam to the affected area. The steam will help to penetrate the pores for a deep, and gentle cleansing which is highly effective in fighting cystic acne since it occurs in the deeper layers of the skin.

                                      What You Need:

                                      • Bathtub with hot water or
                                      • Warm to hot water
                                      • Bowl
                                      • Clean towel

                                      Directions:

The easiest and fastest way for steam is to run hot water in your bathtub for about 2 to 3 minutes. Once the room is all steamy, go inside and sit in the bathroom for up to 20 minutes.

You can also add some warm to hot water to a bowl and allow your face to sit over the bowl. Cover your head and the bowl with the towel. Allow the steam flow directly to your face for approximately ten to fifteen minutes.

Repeat either at least twice per day until you see results.

                                        10) Clay Mask

Clay masks are considered one of the most beneficial ingredients to treat skin conditions such as cystic acne. Clay masks have absorbent, exfoliating and astringent properties; clay masks remove the excess sebum, toxins and impurities to the skin surface which makes the acne come to head fast.

While there is a variety of different clay mass, find the right clay mask that fits your skin best.

                                          What You Need:

                                          • Clay Mask
                                          • Water
                                          • Honey
                                          • Tea tree oil
                                          • Washcloth

                                          Directions:

Simply combine and mix together all the ingredients to create a paste. Apply the paste on the affected area and leave on for at least 20 minutes or until it dries off completely. Once dried, wet a washcloth using warm water and then wipe off the clay mask completely using a washcloth. Apply moisturizer if needed. Repeat these steps daily for a week and twice a day from the next week.

Try to avoid popping any of your cystic acne or other pimples in general. Popping can cause it to easily spread the breakout underneath the skin, not to mention will completely delay your healing time from days to weeks. That’s not even the worst part; popping your pimples can cause acne scars, and who knows when those will fade away, trust me, it ain’t pretty!
