What I Learned Watching Dr. Pimple Popper

Posted by Keeva Organics on June 16, 2021

With more than seven million subscribers on her YouTube channel, Dr. Sandra Lee is educating more and more people about how to care for their skin. From lipomas to zits to masses and more, Dr. Lee conquers it all.

You may have heard of her expertise from her beloved show, Dr. Pimple Popper. Because of her reputation in dermatology, Dr. Pimple Popper has become a sought-after expert for all dermatological cases.

And, I've learned a lot from watching her show, browsing her YouTube channel, and checking out her educational posts. Keep reading to learn all about the tips and tricks that Dr. Pimple Popper has shared in regards to hormonal acne, cystic acne, and more.

1. Don't Pop Your Pimples (Most of the Time)

Popping pimples is an extremely satisfying feeling. Even if it grosses you out, there's something that feels right about relieving the pressure that the blemish was causing.

Like most other experts, Dr. Pimple Popper does not recommend popping your pimples on your own. She warns of the risk of infection and scarring if you do decide to pop them outside of an expert's office.

However, Dr. Lee also knows that we just can't resist the urge. There's something addictive about popping those blemishes and watching your face go back to normal the next day.

So, she tells her followers to wait until they see a whitehead on their skin. This tells us that the pimple has risen to the surface of the skin. If you pop the pimple at this time, it's less likely to traumatize the skin.

She warns us not to pop pimples that are below the surface of the skin. All this does is aggravate the pimple and make us angry.

It's not likely that you're going to be able to pop a deep pimple. And, even if you did bring it to the surface by squeezing hard enough, you've probably busted blood vessels, cut your skin, and caused unnecessary trauma to that area of your skin.

So, when in doubt, don't touch. But, if you just have to pop your pimples, wait until you see the white head come to the surface.

If you want to wait for the acne to go away on its own, but you're on a schedule, you should consider using our acne kit. With natural ingredients, our products can help you treat your acne without harming your skin.

2. Use Salicylic Acid to Prevent Acne Spots

Salicylic acid is one of the most underappreciated treatments out there. It's an active ingredient that helps us clean out our pores.

At the end of the day, that's what we want. Clean pores mean no acne.

Salicylic acid is a chemical peel acid that crystallizes to eliminate dirt, debris, oil, dead skin cells, and more.

By keeping your pores clean with this ingredient, you're preventing bacteria from being able to build up in your skin cells. This prevents acne.

We recommend investing in a high-quality spot treatment that you can use to get rid of red, irritated spots. At the end of the day, this kind of treatment can prevent acne from getting too bad.

3. Change Out Your Face Mask

Maskne occurs when a face mask causes acne on the wearer's skin. That's right: face masks can cause harm.

But, they don't have to.

If you're wearing the same face mask every single day, you may want to give it a rest. Swap out your face mask every day and wash them often.

When you're wearing a face mask, you're creating a microclimate of dirt and oil right on top of your skin. This invites humidity and moisture. And, over time, all of this can clog your pores.

If you're wearing makeup and wearing a face mask, it can make it even worse.

So, when in doubt, change it out. Dr. Pimple Popper tells us to change out our face masks like we change out our underwear. Hopefully, that's every day.

4. Lifestyle Factors Play a Part

All kinds of acne can happen due to lifestyle factors:

  • Tight pants
  • Mask wearing
  • Restrictive clothing
  • Laying on one side while sleeping

Little actions that you don't think of could affect how your skin is looking on a day-to-day basis.

Dr. Pimple Popper recommends evaluating whether or not you have little habits like these that could be affecting your skin. You may be surprised at what kinds of habits you have that you didn't even notice.

5. You Are Not to Blame

No matter how many lifestyle factors you have or how many times you've worn the same mask, it's important not to blame yourself. Acne is a part of life, whether you get it as a teenager or you're one of the many people with adult acne.

No matter how big or ugly you may think your acne is, you need to remember that it's not your fault. It's completely natural, even if you do change your face mask and use the right treatments.

For some people, acne is inevitable no matter what they do.

Dr. Pimple Popper emphasizes the self-confidence that we must have, whether we have acne or not. She loves her job because it transforms people's lives inside and out. And I love watching all of these transformations because of the physical, mental, and emotional education that she offers to her patients.

Dr. Lee wholeheartedly believes that you are not defined by the marks on your skin, no matter how big or strange they seem.

Quality Skin Care According to Dr. Pimple Popper

Dr. Pimple Popper is a huge role model in her field and around the world. People look up to her expertise and her caring nature. And, I must say that I do, too.

I've learned how to care for my skin and myself by watching her videos. And, I urge you to do the same.
