All you have to do is look in your kitchen and you will see abundant natural remedies. In this article, we have pulled some of the popular natural remedies you can find right in your kitchen.

  1. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is well-known kitchen ingredient that also works well in treating acne. Most importantly, it helps you fight acne-causing bacteria and oils that plug the pores of the skin. When you apply apple cider vinegar topically, it can help balance the pH balance of your body and skin, thanks to its antiseptic and astringent properties.

And the reason it works for acne is because it comes with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. With rose water or honey, you can achieve great results with this all-natural kitchen ingredient.

How to use it:

  • Mix apple cider vinegar with a moderate amount of water. Make a cotton ball and dip it into the mixture. Apply it to your face – pay attention to the problem areas. After 10 to 15 minutes, wash it off with water and dry your face. You can do this once or twice daily.
  • You can also add honey to the mixture to be more effective against the acne. Mix 1 tablespoon of honey with 2/3 cup of water and 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Swirl the solution well to form an even paste then dip a cotton ball into the blend. Apply this solution to your acne face wash in a circular manner and leave it on for 30 minutes or more for the solution to take effect. Wash it off with lukewarm water because the honey might make it sticky.
  1. Lemon Juice:

Using lemon juice on your acne can help you reduce the breakouts and scarring. It contains Vitamin C, an essential ingredient for rebuilding the body’s collagen. All you have to do is squeeze out the juice and apply to your face to fight your acne. Do not go directly under the sun immediately after using lemon juice on your face because it makes your face prone to the sunrays. If you must go out, make sure you are using sunscreen for protection.

How to use it:

  • Take out the fresh lemon and squeeze its juice into a bowl. Using your fingers or a cotton ball, apply the juice onto your face and leave it for a few minutes. Wash it off and pat your face dry. If you want it to be more effective in fighting the acne, you can mix it with honey.
  • Do this once a day for a period of three weeks. If you have a sensitive skin, you can dilute the juice with rose oil and apply to the problem areas. To improve your skin texture, you can mix it with vitamin E without the rose oil.

  1. Honey:

Honey is a super food that is rich is phytonutrients, live enzymes, and antioxidant ingredients. When applied on your face, it can help reduce redness and soften the skin.

How to use it:

  • Dabbing some honey on your blemishes before going to bed is the best way of using this natural ingredient to fight your acne. Put some on a cotton ball, apply it on your face and leave overnight. Wash it off the following morning.
  • Mix ¼ of oatmeal with 2 tbsp of honey. Apply to your blemishes and leave for 20 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water and pat your face dry.
  • Mix 1 tablespoon of honey with ½ cinnamon powder. Apply it on your face overnight and wipe off with water in the morning. You can also use it during the day but leave it for an hour before washing it off.
  1. Aloe Vera:

Aloe Vera is a wonderful herbal leaf that helps in a soothing swollen skin and regenerating damaged tissues. If you want to get the best from this herb, make sure you extract the juice from the aloe vera leaf rather than depend on the one you get from over the counter products.

How to use it

  • Take out a fresh aloe vera leaf and gently peel off the green layer. You will see a soft, sticky gel underneath the green layer. Apply this directly to your acne scars and leave for a few minutes.
  • Wash it off with water. To get the best results, you can do this twice daily.
  1. Olive Oil:

Olive oil contains anti-inflammatory properties that help to heal acne scars. It is also one of the friendliest essential oil to use on the face because of the high concentration iron and vitamins – it contains vitamin A, E, C, D, B2, and B1).

How to use it

  • Take some olive oil in your hand and gently massage your acne areas with it. Use a dab to consolidate the oil on the core problem areas. Continue to massage your face until your skin absorbs all of the oil. This should happen after a few minutes.
  • Bring up warm water and rinse a clean cloth or towel in the water. Pull the cloth up to your face to feel the steam. When the heat has subsided, wipe off the oil from your face. Do this before going to bed.
  1. Baking Soda

Baking soda is another ingredient that is useful for exfoliating dead skin cells from the face. It also helps to reduce inflammation and acne-causing bacteria from the skin.

How to use it

  • Mix baking soda with some amount of water to make a paste. Apply this on your acne prone areas and leave it for some minutes to take effect. Wipe your face clean with warm water.
  • Use a moisturizer, preferably tea tree oil or olive oil on your face after washing off the solution. Do these two times daily for a couple of weeks.
  1. Cocoa Butter

Cocoa butter is an extract from the cacao seeds and is a very useful ingredient for preventing and curing acne scars. It contains moisturizing properties and you can use it on your acne.

How to use it

  • Wash your face and pat dry using a clean cloth or towel. Put some cocoa butter on your hands and massage your face for a couple of minutes.
  • For an excellent result, leave the solution on your face overnight and wash it off in the morning. Do this daily for 2-3 weeks.
