All you have to do is look in your kitchen and you will see abundant natural remedies. In this article, we have pulled some of the popular natural remedies you can find right in your kitchen.
- Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is well-known kitchen ingredient that also works well in treating acne. Most importantly, it helps you fight acne-causing bacteria and oils that plug the pores of the skin. When you apply apple cider vinegar topically, it can help balance the pH balance of your body and skin, thanks to its antiseptic and astringent properties.
And the reason it works for acne is because it comes with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. With rose water or honey, you can achieve great results with this all-natural kitchen ingredient.
How to use it:
- Mix apple cider vinegar with a moderate amount of water. Make a cotton ball and dip it into the mixture. Apply it to your face – pay attention to the problem areas. After 10 to 15 minutes, wash it off with water and dry your face. You can do this once or twice daily.
- You can also add honey to the mixture to be more effective against the acne. Mix 1 tablespoon of honey with 2/3 cup of water and 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Swirl the solution well to form an even paste then dip a cotton ball into the blend. Apply this solution to your acne face wash in a circular manner and leave it on for 30 minutes or more for the solution to take effect. Wash it off with lukewarm water because the honey might make it sticky.
- Lemon Juice:
Using lemon juice on your acne can help you reduce the breakouts and scarring. It contains Vitamin C, an essential ingredient for rebuilding the body’s collagen. All you have to do is squeeze out the juice and apply to your face to fight your acne. Do not go directly under the sun immediately after using lemon juice on your face because it makes your face prone to the sunrays. If you must go out, make sure you are using sunscreen for protection.
How to use it:
- Take out the fresh lemon and squeeze its juice into a bowl. Using your fingers or a cotton ball, apply the juice onto your face and leave it for a few minutes. Wash it off and pat your face dry. If you want it to be more effective in fighting the acne, you can mix it with honey.
- Do this once a day for a period of three weeks. If you have a sensitive skin, you can dilute the juice with rose oil and apply to the problem areas. To improve your skin texture, you can mix it with vitamin E without the rose oil.
