As a woman, it’s all too easy to fall into the trap of measuring your self worth based on aesthetic beauty standards. And why shouldn’t we, right? From all angles we are poked, prodded and judged like cattle. Social media and advertising reinforce the idea that if we fall short of perfection, if we don’t have a size zero waist with perfect teeth and blemish free skin….well, forget about finding contentment, let alone love.

But it’s just not true!

Don’t get me wrong, I understand that it’s hard to feel like your best self when your skin isn’t cooperating with you. BUT...That being said, it’s important to make the distinction that acne is a physical condition caused by a variety of factors (hormones, stress, mental health, diet, etc.) none of which determine how beautiful or worthwhile you are.
